Served with "C" Troop 2/1 Cavalry, 2nd Armored from February, 1964 to September or October 1964 when I PCS'd to Fort Knox, KY upon re-enlistment. While there, participated in the war games held over several months in the Mojave Desert then went on "Move out" Alert Status for the Gulf of Tomkin incident.

SP4 McKay, 19D, Served 1986-87, Ft. Hood, doing computer work in the PAC. Got transferred later to Division Headquarters ('87). Worked for SFC Woodberry, who had 20 years in then. I would love to thank Sgt. Woodberry for all the things he did for me, taught me! He was a patient soldier. My life has been very different for knowing him. I wasn't a good soldier and probably would have gotten somebody killed if I'd served during war. Did a REFORGER in Germany and mostly flew with a helicopter pilot who picked up people at Cologne. Saw a lot of Germany. It was a privilege to serve in 2/1 and knowing of its history in Viet Nam. If any of you ever need anything, just ask me. Good wishes to you on Veterans Day, 2013.

First assignment out of AIT, F Troop, 2nd Platoon. I was a 11D, but we were so short 11E's that I was drafted to crew a Sheridan, driver of "Fox 26" for about a year. SSG Robinson was my Plt. Sgt. CPT. D.B. Johnson was Troop CO. was in the 2/1 from 1975 to Nov. 1979, absolutely the best times of my 24 year career. went on 2 BDE.75 tours with Fox Trp., then went to A Trp. after Fox disbanded. would love to hear from any of the Troopers I served with. Nothing but the fondest memories for all you guys. IF YOU AIN'T CAV, YOU AIN'T S#!T!!

B Trp deployed to Graf in Winter of '76 and returned to Hood 6 months later. A Trp deployed in Summer of '77 and returned Winter of '78. I commanded both. From your comments you may have been in both. Congrats on your career!
