After finding a Blackhawk trooper at the travelling Viet Nam Wall, who informed me of this site and assoc. I thought I'd get reconnected with my regiment. My tenure was 1974 to 1978 at Ft. Hood. Sqdn Motor Officer (1/75-8/75) CO, B Trp (9/75-9/76) Adj.(9/76-5/77) CO, A Trp (6/77-2/78) B and A Trp both deployed to Graf under my command as part of Brigade '75. My best years as a professional soldier, due to a superb chain of command and the finest troopers.
"Be Professional" was our motto in both units. Hope to hear from you.

Jim...thanks for the update. B Trp was special as we qualified all Sheridans prior to departure to Graf, and then re-qualified all crews while we were there. Employing scouts, mortars and infantry along with the Sheridans in a combined live fire exercise set high standards at Graf for other Cav. units! And I'm especially proud of our performance in the 1976 Bi-Centennial parade while we there. We also set a precedent for Bde-75 2-1 Cav units on the Czech border. Proud to have been CO of a great unit.

Dear Members, I want to notify you that my brother, Ken J. Partoyan passed away very unexpectedly in late January. He participated on this website I believe. He was in C troop, 2nd Squadron in the Central Highlands, 68-69. I've attached a relatively recent picture of him. Please feel free to contact me or leave any comments at www.legacy.com with his name.
Sincerely,
Karen
